What is 'Stadium Rock?'
Stadium Rock is a phrase used to describe a form of rock music which is played, (or intended to be played), in large venues, such as event centers, arenas, stadiums, and open-air concert spaces. Often, stadium rock is categorized as being more mass-scale, commercially appealing, and audience-oriented music. At these types of performances, elaborate lighting, and additional effects are often included. Due to the complexity of many of the songs in this genre, there are only a handful of live bands that can successfully perform them with the power and precision each song demands.
The Out-Patientz are one of those select few bands that perform these songs seamlessly, night after night.
Alena Sheldon
Alena Sheldon (Vocals) is a Three time National award winning Female Vocalist & National Entertainer of the Year and a Nashville Recording Artist for Artistree & KMA Records with 4 Single releases in her repitoire. Her 4+ octave range (yes four!) and vocal inflections allow her to effortlessly perform songs many other vocalists can only dream about... There really isn't anything she can't sing!
Terry Beresford
Terry Beresford (Guitar/Vocals) cut his musical teeth playing show tunes in a backing band for a touring dance troupe in his early teens. The experience he gained performing and touring in those formative years proved invaluable in his career, as he went on to be a founding member of the insanely popular Portland bands ‘Stories’ and ‘No Ties’.
When the live music circuit began to shrink, his priorities turned to raising a family and returning to school for his Business degree.
Fast-forward to the present when he was approached by the past members of ‘No Ties’ about doing a reunion show. After the success and energy of that show, he knew it was time for him to start singing and playing guitar again. Terry feels very fortunate to have teamed up with excellent musicians for this second go-around, as well as having the full, loving support of his family.
Darwin Turner
Darwin Turner (Bass) has always been drawn to the low-end, and like many musicians, was inspired to pick up an instrument through the raw power and joy of experiencing live music. His fascination with the rhythmic relationship of heart pounding percussion and the growling rumble of the bass eventually led to the inevitable; Picking up that first bass! Having been blessed throughout the years performing in rock, blues and jazz bands as well as serving on worship teams, he continues on his journey providing the low end thunder on some of the greatest rock tunes ever written!
Larry Schaeffer
Larry Schaeffer (Keyboards) has spent most of his life in the music industry, having composed produced and recorded promotional music for Intel, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, and many other high-tech companies.
For the past 15 years, he has been an itegeral part of Westwind Farm Recording Studios, recording many National and Internationally known artists, as well as up and coming concert pianists from all over the world thru Portland Piano International.
Larry has a high level of mastery in modern technology which allows him to recreate the keyboard sounds of instantly recognizable and loved classic rock favorites.
Dave Gager
Dave Gager (Drums/Vocals) has recorded and performed with a host of regional, national and world-class musicians since the early 80's, dividing his time between studio sessions and live performances.
He also runs a small, but potent, home recording studio, and has gained a reputation as an in-demand session player for musicians/bands of every genre worldwide.
Dave is an official endorser of DMR Custom Drums.
